Alpenrallye in Kitzbühel - Oldtimer
Alpenrallye - Wilder Kaiser
Year after year classic car enthusiasts from all over Europe arrive in Kitzbühel to experience one of the most exciting classic car events held in the Alps: The 22nd Kitzbühel Alpine Rally takes place from 3 - 6 June 2009.

Approximately 200 of the finest classics cars ever made are expected to participate in the event. Bentley, Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche, Maserati, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce - dream cars with illustrious names will race through the streets of Kitzbühel and along the surrounding alpine roads.

Some of the most stunning classic cars ever produced in Europe will race against the magnificent backdrop of the majestic Alps. It therefore comes as no surprise that the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally has not only become a favorite haunt for classic car enthusiasts, but also attracts a number of celebrities from the worlds of racing, show business, finance
and sports - ensuring the Alpine Rally always guarantees a touch of glamour.

For the first time the event will offer two prizes:
The Alpenrallye Sport Trophy and the Alpenrallye Classic Trophy

The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally 2009 will be judged in two categories for the first time: The Alpenrallye Sport Trophy for expert rally drivers and the Alpenrallye Classic Trophy for cruisers and those driving for pleasure.

Classic cars built before 1976 will complete a distance of around 500 km over the three days of the event. Final details of the routes for the 22nd Alpine Rally have yet to be confirmed. However it will once again involve attractive new routes along the most beautiful mountain roads in the Tyrol, Salzburg and the foothills of the Bavarian Alps.

This year the main stage will lead through Saalfelden (circuit route) and Lofer, and into the foothills of the Bavarian Alps: Reit im Winkl, German alpine road – lunch halt on Friday at the exclusive Gut Hitzelsberg restaurant in Chiemsee, where drivers can visit the Oldtimer-Zentrum Mirbach (Mirbach Vintage Car Centre). The return leg through the Tyrolean Alps presents a 350 km stage through the Wilder Kaiser mountain range back to Kitzbühel.

The Saturday stage of the 22nd Alpine Rally covers a distance of 110 km through the Tyrolean lowlands. The rally ends with a traditional classic car parade in front of thousands of spectators in the Kitzbühel town centre – for many, the highlight of the rally.
